Mrs. Tisha Jones
Position: Movement Teacher
Biography: This is my first year teaching Movement for Birchtree Charter School, but it is my third year as a staff member. I have also worked at Birchtree as a resource teacher and as the Parent Partnership Coordinator. I graduated in 2000 from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas with a Bachelor of Education and Minor in Religious Studies. I taught two summers of English in China before entering the Master of Theological Studies program at Vanderbilt University in 2002.
My husband and I returned to Kansas in 2004 after our first child was born, and there I was blessed to raise both of my girls as a full-time “domestic engineer.” We moved to Alaska five years ago and have loved our time here. It is a gift to see the beauty of the land each day and the kindness of the people. We have been truly blessed by this community, and I can’t imagine ever moving. I am honored to be working with the students and staff at Birchtree Charter School.
