We just want to remind Birchtree families that students do have school today and tomorrow (Feb. 18 and 19). The rest of the district has Parent-Teacher conferences, but we are open. Thanks!

Craft Fair Planning Meeting
Birchtree is gearing up to have a Craft Fair the end of March or beginning of April! We would love to hear any suggestions you have as we plan this fun community event. Please join us Tuesday, February 19 from 3:30-4:30 at the school. If you are not able to make this meeting, but have suggestions or ideas please contact Olivia Holland, Craft Fair Coordinator. Contact information will be in the Friday Update.
Carnival, Valentine’s Day, and Market Day
Tomorrow is going to be a very joyfully busy day! Some classes are having their celebration of Valentine’s Day. Please review both the guidelines in the Friday Update for Valentine’s Day as well as any guidelines sent by your child’s teacher.
It is also German Carnival day! The parade will start at 2:15 pm. There is a copy of the flier that went home last week in the office.
Third Grade will also be having their market before and after the parade.
Fifth Grade on Radio Free Palmer
Tune in to to 89.5 FM to hear our 5th graders as they do a choral reading of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, play “We Shall Overcome” on their recorders, and do brief biographical sketches of famous African-Americans!

The C-Team Tournament will be held at Houston Middle School on February 14 and 15. A game schedule is below. 
Hands, Heart and Head-a-Thon
