Mrs. Cathy Busbey

Biography:
Cathy Busbey grew up in New York State in a small town called Hinsdale.  After completing her BSE degree she began her career teaching adapted physical education in New York.   After three years she returned to school and completed her MSE degree with emphasis on elementary education and physical education.   She then taught in the classroom and in the physical education setting for 2 years.   At that time she decided to travel and came to Alaska for a teaching position.   She began her career in the Mat-Su District in 1993.   She has taught adapted physical education, physical education, and in the classroom.   In 2007 she completed her certificate in educational leadership through UAA. Cathy and her husband Lyle live in Palmer and have two children, Abriana and Aleah, and three dogs.   The family enjoys fishing, basketball, and walking their dogs. She is looking forward to this year and is happy to be a part of the Birchtree family.
