Mrs. Diana Sloan-Basner

 

Position: Fourth Grade Teacher

Biography:
Diana Sloan-Basner has been a classroom teacher in the Mat-Su School District for twenty years, teaching Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. She has also been a district Literacy Coach for the past two years. In addition to her educational background, Diana has a degree in Social Work, which was useful in her position at a Native American boarding school in South Dakota and while working with inner-city children in South Carolina. She also worked as a program director and recreation specialist with developmentally disabled adults. In her spare time, she enjoys playing a variety of musical instruments, doing arts and crafts projects, baking, reading, camping, and enjoying nature. Diana’s travel-lust has taken her to more than 30 countries. Diana, her husband, and their two teenage sons live outside Palmer.
