Mrs. Diana Sloan-Basner

 

Position: Elementary Teacher: Grades 1st – 5th

Biography:
 

Diana Sloan-Basner has been a classroom teacher and a literacy coach in the Mat-Su School District for over twenty-five years, teaching kindergarten through sixth grades. In addition to her educational background, Diana has a degree in Social Work, which was useful in her position at a Native American boarding school in South Dakota and while working with inner-city children in South Carolina. She also worked as a program director and recreation specialist with developmentally disabled adults. In her spare time, she enjoys playing a variety of musical instruments, doing arts and crafts projects, baking, reading, camping, and enjoying nature. Diana’s travel-lust has taken her to more than 30 countries. Diana and her husband have two sons. Their family lives near Palmer.
