Mrs. Tracy Houser

Biography:
Born and raised in Anchorage, Tracy headed to Vermont after high school, earning her B.A. in English Literature at Middlebury College. After returning to Alaska, she coached nordic skiing at West High, worked at The Arc of Anchorage, and earned her teaching degree from UAA. She then went on to teach and coach at Mirror Lake Middle School in Chugiak for 10 years before taking 3 years off from teaching to be a stay-at-home Mom. During that time she completed her M. Ed. in School Counseling, volunteered for Mat-Su Jr. Nordics, and homeschooled her daughter using a Waldorf-inspired approach. She is now very excited and honored to be working at Birchtree. For personal renewal, she loves trail running with friends and hiking or skiing with her husband and children.
